Steve Chapman

Steve Chapman Steve's Car

Steve started racing in 1990 in the MGOC series in UK then found out about FISC in 1997, and has been driving with us since then. He lives near Thruxton in Hampshire, and was playing bass guitar in a rock band, until musical differences cut short the path to the charts. He tries to make a living in the IT consultancy world, in order to support his hobbies and "kids" of 21 and 15. He is reputed to enjoy a bit of snowboarding now & then, but judging by the photo he sent me , he has just as much trouble controlling his board as he does his car !! ( No, I do not believe he didn't hit the tree !)
Steve's Car

His black and silver topped racing Midget was previously succesfully campaigned by Mick Mercer. It doesn't seem to go as quick now though ! Steve claims this is due to a "loose nut" in the car. The big one behind the wheel i.e. him.
He uses "an excellent" ( his words ) Slark Racing Engine. (link on the Links page) & a brand new Dog box from Peter May (link on the Links page). A quote from Steve "I just need to learn to drive it a bit quicker".
Most of the front end of this car was used to repair Mark Hopes car for the last race of 1999.
